Enjoy the picturesque drive, passing through the lively town of Karatu and entering the gates of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The steep ascent winds through lush tropical jungle until you reach the crater rim road, offering a breathtaking viewpoint over the crater. Pause here to stretch your legs, take in the view, and savour the picnic lunch brought from Dunia Camp.

Continuing in an anti-clockwise direction around the crater rim, you'll eventually move away from the rim and into the green rolling highlands of Ngorongoro. Pass by goat herders and waving school children as you circumnavigate the base of Ol Moti Crater, arriving at The Highlands. After the drive, unwind in camp, acclimatising to the altitude before indulging in dinner.

The day begins early as you aim to be among the first vehicles on the Ngorongoro Crater floor. Departing from camp in the cold darkness, bundled up in warm jackets and Maasai blankets, the chill is soon forgotten as you descend the inner walls of the unbroken caldera. On the crater floor, indulge in coffee and breakfast snacks during the unique game drive experience. A picnic lunch awaits by the hippo pool, where grunting rafts of hippos provide company.
